My name is Gaby Garcia and I am a sophomore at Weatherford High School. I am 15 years old, live at home with my parents, 3 siblings, about 20 horses, 12 lambs, and 3 dogs, and have been in FFA for a year. I began working with livestock animals at a young age because my dad has his own business training racehorses and he taught me how to properly care for them before and after race day to ensure peak performance and health.
This was my first year showing Dorper lambs and my first lamb taught me so much more than I thought possible, not only did he make me a better showman, he also made me a better person by teaching me integrity, responsibility, and how to accept defeat to become better along with motivating me to start breeding Dorpers which is what I'm doing now.
I plan on becoming an equine vet and attend Texas A&M to accomplish this. I'm currently taking dual credit classes and will graduate with my associate's degree from Weatherford College.
