Riverstone Vet Group: COVID-19 Updates

UPDATED: May 4, 2020

We are continuing to actively monitor COVID-19 as the state initiates new regulations for phase 1. As we are still essential most of our day to day will remain the same as the past few weeks.

At this time, both hospitals will now be open from 7:45-5:30 daily to continue to care for our patients. Grote will continue to be open on Saturdays from 8:00-2:00.

Our staff and client’s safety is of the utmost concern right now, and both Grote Veterinary Clinic and Riverstone Veterinary Hospital are taking extra precautions beyond our normal protocols to reduce the risk of exposure within our hospitals. We have asked our staff to wear masks during their client interaction and we are also sanitizing our exam rooms and lobby in-between every client (in addition to our normal cleaning protocol). We are still implementing social distancing and are asking that you wait in your car until an exam room is available or for the entirety of your appointment, whichever you deem appropriate.

The Texas Board of Veterinary Medical Directors has released a statement encouraging us to utilize Telemedicine in cases that the Veterinarian deems appropriate. This would be a 20 minute Google Duo chat with one of our doctors regarding your concerns about your pet, and if need be we can place medications outside of our doors for you to pick up. This is available on a case by case basis, and you must have a Veterinary-Client-Patient-Relationship to be eligible.

If you have concerns about your pet and would like to consider Telemedicine for your pet’s visit, please call the appropriate hospital to have a doctor verify that you are eligible.

At this time, if you do not wish to come into the hospital we are still offering curbside service where you call ahead, and we will come and get your pet from the car and perform their services while you wait in the car. Our doctors would then call you to communicate their findings and recommendations.

Should you have any questions regarding your pet and COVID-19, please refer to our blog where Dr. Cate goes in-depth about what to expect, and how to care for your pet during this time.

Thank you – Dr. Cate and the RVG Staff
